Canada House Beach Club

The staff at Canada House has been busy making improvements over the past couple of years... New lights in all the bathrooms use less than 1/4 as much electricity as the old ones did... The new Murphy beds and new carpets have been installed in all the units, and many also got some additional lighting... By popular request, we also added full-length mirrors in every unit.

There have been many changes on the outside, as well. We've spruced up several areas around the property with new plants and trees, re-built a brick planter that was falling down, and there are lots of flowers everywhere to "pretty up" the place. In fact, there were so many improvements that we came in one day to find that a whole village of gnomes had set up residence under the stairs on the West side!!

Perhaps the most popular upgrade we've had recently is the addition of wireless internet availability throughout the property. No matter what unit you stay in, you'll get a great signal inside your room (or even on the balcony)! We are pleased to be able to offer this amenity to our in-house guests at no charge.

Next on the agenda is some major renovations to the spas on both sides of the street. We expect to start on the West spa sometime early in 2009. As soon as work is completed on the West side, we'll begin on the East side.

Last fall we re-covered the small wooden deck area at the north end of the east pool with faux wood, made of recycled plastic. It doesn’t need to be stained or painted and won’t age like real wood, so we expect it to be beautiful for years to come! We also replaced all our parking bumpers with recycled plastic bumpers. These new bumpers will never need to be painted and will look nicer, longer than concrete bumpers, as they chip and break easily. We recycled the concrete bumpers by lining them up on both sides of the east shuffleboard courts. We hope that this will keep some of the sand and dirt off the courts and keep us from having to replace the equipment as often. Kudos to our maintenance team for moving those extremely heavy blocks of concrete from the parking lot over to the shuffleboard area and digging trenches to put them in!

We started another project this fall, after some of our barbecue grills started to literally fall apart. We replaced all six grills (four East and two West) with new stainless steel grills. We are also installing a 4’x4’ windbreak fence behind each grill with hooks for grilling tools, which can be checked out at the front desk. We recently replaced many outside lights on both sides of the street and they look really nice. However, afterwards, we noticed something on the east side. Although the lighting is fine to just be out there, it’s not really enough to cook out with. So for the east side only, we added a small spotlight on each fence behind the grills. Each light has a 2-hour timer, which should give everyone plenty of time to enjoy dinner without having to get up and turn the lights back on! Oh, and for those who are concerned about the local turtle population, we made sure that the spotlights face away from the beach, so they won’t disturb the turtles!

On the subject of fences, we are replacing the dividers between the first floor units on the West side with PVC fences. The old ones, which were made of wood, were rotting away from age and sea air, so it was definitely time to get something new! We also decided that instead of putting the old, out-dated lights back up, we’d prefer something newer and more modern. We found something that looks great and as a bonus, it’s easy to open for changing the bulbs! Since they do look so nice, we’re going to replace all of the lights on the exterior of the buildings – on both sides of the street!

Due to damage that can no longer be repaired, we have replaced 10 Murphy beds & side cabinets on the West side and will shortly be replacing 12 more, this time o

Cliffs at Peace Canyon

Welcome to The Cliffs at Peace Canyon and Fabulous Las Vegas!!

In 2008 all of our units were updated with new dining chairs, living room rugs, counter tops in the kitchen and new artwork throughout. We are in the process of repainting all the units and installing new draperies. In effort to stay “Green”, the old thermostats are being replaced by new energy-efficient ones.
We have added wireless internet throughout the property as well.

We offer complementary daily shuttle service to and from the local grocery market, the World Famous Las Vegas Strip and 3 days a week to and from the Fremont Street Experience. Our Shuttle runs from 10am-12am seven (7) days a week. Reservations are required to use the Shuttle.

The Sienna Golf Club, Arroyo at Red Rock and Badlands Golf courses offer our Guests Special Rates throughout the year. Stop by the Front Desk to get more information on these or any of our activities.

Many new shops and restaurants are now open at the Grand Flamingo Center located just ¼ mile north of the Resort.

We are a Non-Smoking Facility. However, there are designated Smoking Areas around the pool and building entrances.

Grand Lake Resort

We wish our Owners and Guests a wonderful New Year!

This past year has been a busy one at the resort. We completed several projects that have added to the overall guest experience. In 2008 we:

- Replaced our playground with a new play system that is modern, safe and adds color to the area near the tiki hut.
- Added patio furniture and outdoor carpet was added to each patio. The change is phenomenal.
- Had our parking lot resealed and re-striped.
- Replaced our pool cushions with brand new ones.
- Changed our linen and sheets and pillow cases are now found in colors instead of white.
- Installed three new picnic tables.
- Replaced all doors in the 400 building first floor, the first step in our project to replace the doors on all units.

In 2009 we plan to begin the interior renovation project, starting with the 600 Building. Living room and bedroom furniture will be replaced with the emphasis on changing the look of our unit interiors into something more modern than we currently have in place.

At our Annual Meeting, your Board of Directors were re-elected. Your Board members are:

Lifetime of Vacations Resort

Hello to all of our owners from beautiful Lifetime of Vacations Resort! We look forward to a very productive year as we continue our projects that began several years ago to upgrade your resort. Your unit has been transformed recently as we have upgraded the entire unit except for the bathroom and last year we began that project and we now have beautiful new bathrooms with walk-in tiled showers in every unit in the 100 Building! The 200 & 300 Buildings are scheduled to have the same bathroom upgrade done in the near future. You must see one of the new bathrooms during your next visit!

In addition, we have planned several more upgrades for 2008! A new playground will be built, your parking lot will be resealed, new fitness equipment and new boats will be added to improve your stay with us. The resort is beginning to sparkle!

Maverick

Maverick Resort

Standing on the sands of historic Ormond Beach for the better of 50 years, the Maverick Resort has looked out on the ever changing sea. This unique (some would say eccentric) resort; boasts the longest beachfront in the county. For more than two generations this down home family resort has been a favored destination. With the world famous - Daytona Beach as our back yard and all its many distractions and attractions to fill your days and evenings, there is something for everyone! Once you return home to one of our 138 studio and one bedroom units, you have the option of playing on our golden sand beach or swimming in our 66,000 gallon heated pool. However, if you just want to relax and sit on your oceanfront private balcony and have a lazy read, then this is the perfect place. One can also watch the moon rise while soaking in the Jacuzzi - who knows, at some point, you may even be treated to a shuttle launch!

Also as part of your vacation experience, we have a year round activities director who helps kids, young and old, keep busy. We also have an on site restaurant serving award winning breakfast, lunch and, a few nights a week, dinner. Enjoy your meal inside or on our outdoor covered dinning area.

In 2006 & 2007 the Maverick under took a major rebranding and remodel. Every room has a new bath, kitchen and many with memory foam mattresses. I guess one could say that our whole plan is that you feel like a guest in our home! The staff is extremely excited of our changes and enjoys showing off our improvements. We have remodeled our Adult Social Room which makes a great place for a card game. The room is also equipped with an HDTV for the fans of sports and of course the left hand turns or if you are musically inclined there is even a 100 year old baby grand piano for a sing a long!

We are also very much involved and committed to local ecology. In 2008 many of our building systems have been replaced with very high efficiency pumps. As part of Florida’s “Every Man Program,” we’re replacing incandescent lighting with compact fluorescent lighting, not only in common areas, but rooms as well. This has already shown a great cost savings in electricity. This year as part of showing our commitment in conjunction with the stat of Florida, the Maverick will soon become the first commercial property to install a state of art solar hot water system. The solar system will provide a mass majority of our hot water needs for the building and will save a great deal in natural gas, helping to lower our carbon foot print.

Is exciting when we realize it has been already five years since we opened, by now Mizner has many friends and people who calls it “home”. This is mainly due to the excellent staff in both the maintenance and Housekeeping departments that take personal pride in keeping your home away from home in great condition awaiting your next return. Over this period we have upgraded the linens, added features, partner with event organizers in order to have the most updated information to help you gear your vacation on your desired direction.

We are delighted to offer front desk/reception 24 hours a day, right at Mizner Place. Now you can drive directly to your home Resort and enjoy the convenience and hospitality of our well trained and friendly staff and stop by our concierge for information. The Resort has also available Wi-Fi thorough the property in addition to our internet room, located right across from our Gym.

Please keep in mind that there are many restaurants, a dry cleaners and shopping opportunities just steps outside our front door at the Weston Town Center. Some of the “Hot Spots” are the Japan Inn, Tarantella’s, the Cheese Course and Starbucks and Yogurtland among others. In case The evening calls for a Martini, Swig’s is a special favorite establishment with the local residents.

We offer seasonal activities such as Kid’s Night Out and Teen Jam for the younger crowd. We continue serving fruit smoothies by the pool and our most popular activities have been “Latin Dancing Lessons” and “Karaoke night”.

We are pleased to continue offering the services of the Tour Company by the name of “Tours to You”. Our guests now have the opportunity to enjoy a diversity of flavorful foods at various restaurants, visit local museums, shop with the locals and at the end of the day they will enjoy a beautiful sunset at the southern most part of the United States. Palm Beach Shores Resort

Palm Beach Shores Resort, a Gold Crown Vacation Village Resort, is proud to be spotlighted as the Resort of the Month. Our beautiful gold crown resort has just had a complete facelift in our public areas.

Beginning when you step inside our lobby you will be awed by the new colors and woods that were chosen for our Front Desk area. Our new Front Desk is custom made out of a rich dark wood with a beautiful granite counter top. New chandeliers and all new lighting enhance the motif, along with beautiful pieces of artwork.

All carpeting and furniture was replaced with an updated contemporary look in rich colors of greens, blues, browns, tying into our ocean location. Complimentary wireless internet is available in all the public areas including the pool; so you can relax while still working, if need be. In each unit wired high speed internet is also complimentary.

Two years ago we installed new mattresses in all our units with the Serenity Suite Series – a mattress that was created exclusively for Vacation Village resorts. Many guests have asked where they can purchase a mattress because they are so comfortable. To go with the new bedding, we purchased new linens, duvet covers and dust ruffles for a very upscale look.

In the Dining Room /Living Room all chairs and seating were recovered in a new warm theme to match the upholstery of the sofa chairs and sofas that were purchased two years ago. This past year we have just completed replacing all the corridor carpeting with a very warm carpeting that brightens up the corridors.

In the Pool Area all the pavers were replaced and the pool was re-diamond-brighted with new wall tiles for a clean refreshing look. Six Royal Palm trees that were destroyed in Hurricane Wilma were recently replaced, in addition to the six Coconut Palms replaced last year.

We are very excited to introduce you to our new restaurant the Islander Grill & Tiki Bar. Chef Nico has been cooking up a storm offer mouth watering culinary delights and great specials such as Prime Rib Night, Grouper Night and 1 ½ Maine Lobster Night. All of the specials are under $20.00 – some may even include a glass of wine!

Williamsburg Plantation

The kid-zone also features wet and dry playgrounds, a photography studio with Sesame Street's characters and musical performances. The park's current lineup of kid-friendly rides and attractions will remain, including the popular Land of the Dragons play area and junior rides throughout the park.
